How to Protect & Maintain Your Outdoor Kitchen in Dubai's Climate

Dubai is beautiful, but it's tough on outdoor equipment. Fierce summer sun, high humidity, fine dust and salt-laden coastal air will wear down anything left unprotected. The good news: with a few simple habits, your built-in BBQ and outdoor kitchen will look and cook like new for many years. Here's how to care for it.

A little routine care keeps 304 stainless steel looking sharp through Dubai's seasons.

What Dubai's climate throws at your BBQ

  • Salt air near the coast and on the Palm accelerates surface corrosion on lesser metals.
  • Humidity in summer encourages tea-staining and spotting on steel.
  • Fine dust settles into burners, vents and moving parts.
  • UV and heat degrade covers, seals and any non-UV-stable materials.

This is exactly why we only supply 304 stainless steel — it's specified for demanding outdoor and marine-adjacent conditions. The steel does the heavy lifting; your routine keeps it pristine.

After every cook

  • Burn off the grates on high for 10–15 minutes, then brush clean.
  • Wipe down stainless surfaces to remove grease and, crucially, salt residue.
  • Empty grease trays regularly so they don't overflow in the heat.

A good utensil set and a quality grill brush make this a two-minute job.

Every month (during BBQ season)

  • Deep-clean burners and vents to clear dust and debris.
  • Check gas hoses and connections for wear (a quick soapy-water leak test is wise).
  • Polish stainless steel with the grain using a dedicated stainless cleaner — never abrasive pads that scratch.
  • Season cast-iron parts, like our cast iron grill plate, with a light oil coat to stop rust.

Through the summer

When it's too hot to grill and the BBQ sits idle for weeks, protect it:

  • Give all steel a light food-safe oil wipe before a long rest — it fends off humidity spotting.
  • Keep it covered with a UV-resistant, waterproof cover, or close cabinet doors on built-in units.
  • Store LPG cylinders upright, in shade, away from direct heat.
  • Shield knobs, igniters and any electronics from direct sun where you can.

The golden rule: salt and moisture are the enemies. A 60-second wipe-down after cooking does more to extend your BBQ's life than any deep clean — especially if you're near the water.

Keep the right kit handy

A few accessories make maintenance effortless: a stainless utensil set, a grill brush, and covers to keep dust and sun off between cooks. Look after the equipment and it looks after you — season after season.
